Edward Szpakowski
World War II veteran
Edward Szpakowski was born in Poland in 1924. Edward was World War II veteran, a proud Canadian, Aeronautical enthusiast, lover of trees and nature, independent and stubborn. Passed peacefully following an accident at home in his 98th year. Husband of Marceline; proud father of Nina and husband John; Peter and his wife Denise; John and his wife Donna and their extended families. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Elizabeth, Carolyn, Alexis, Kimberly and their families. There will be no funeral in honor of Edward’s wishes to stand in solidarity with his brothers-in-arms. Cremation has taken place. The family wishes to express deep gratitude for the support they have received from the community over the past year. In particular, Mike and Gen LaBelle and Steve and Melanie Thibert. Our thanks to Drs. Luong in Kemptville and Liang and Team A at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa for their kind attention to Edward’s needs. To those wishing to remember Edward, please raise a glass in toast to him and consider a contribution to Doctors Without Borders.
