1949-2021
Doug Hart, of
Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday,
June 19, 2021. Born in Sydney, NS, he was the son of the late Lloyd
and Christine (MacDonald) Hart.
Doug worked
with Imperial Oil for a total of 33 years. He began in Sydney
delivering gas to the stations across the Island before transferring
to Moncton in 1986. He worked at the Distribution Center until his
retirement in 2004.
Doug enjoyed puttering
around in the yard and garage. He loved going home to Cape Breton as
often he could. Doug will be remembered for his great sense of humor
and loved to have a good laugh with others.
Doug is survived by
his son, Clayton Hart, daughters: Lisa (Roy Kennedy) Hart, Leanne
(Kenny Merlin) Hart, Kimberly Gale and sister Helen (Doug)
Wilson.
He is also survived by
his grandchildren: Madelyn Gale, Hannah Merlin and his nieces;
Stephanie, Stacey, and Shara-Lynn as well as several
cousins.
Aside from his
parents, Doug was predeceased by his wife Donna Gale and son Stephen
Gale.
In keeping with his
wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside service for
Doug’s family and friends will be held at a later date in
Sydney, NS. Arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, (869-2007).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation and the Lung Association.
