Obituary
With her daughter-in law at her bedside Donna Dupuis went home with the Lord on August 31, 2021
Donna is now in His Holy presence and enjoying the complete rest that He promises.
While residing at Meadowood Manor and before her passing Donna was granted time for many special visits from her three sons, grandchildren, family, friends and clergy.
Our sincere appreciation for the kindness and compassion of the Care-workers and Staff of St. Boniface Hospital, Meadowood Manor and Riverside Lions Residence.
Donna was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Gordon Ronald Dupuis (2013) and her brother Gurth “Norman” Claydon (2018). Donna is survived by her brother Mark Claydon and her three sons: Michael (Judith), Brian-Paul (Janet) and Donald “Larry” Dupuis. Sisters-in-Law: Michele (Bob) Drew, Joan (Wally) Bjarnason and Lynne Claydon (Norman); Grandchildren: Andrea, Benjamin, Chelsea, Jor-el, Travis and Chance (Joey) Moore, Donna will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Donna resided her entire life in St. Vital. A bit of a social butterfly through her school years, Donna maintained a life-long friendship with her classmate, Veda Lindsay. In her younger years, school and cottage life were a highlight for Donna. It was at Caddy Lake that she met her first and only love, Gordon. Soon afterwards they married. Together Gordon and Donna enjoyed many summers at Middle Lake near Keewatin with family, their dogs and her unusual wildlife friends (for many years several named-sea gulls returned each summer). In the winter months she enjoyed travelling near and far with her Sisters- in-Law. Donna’s faith had a profound influence on her children, those close to her, and also her younger brother with memories of how she encouraged them to memorize scripture. Donna dedicated herself to family, work and her community. Donna was a long-time member of St. Vital community church, now known as New Beginnings Church. She supported several Christian missions and charities. As a two-time cancer survivor, she volunteered as a counsellor, helping women affected by breast cancer. Donna actively participated with the shaping and development of the Dakota-Parkville community, preparing petitions and attending council meetings to advocate for improving roads, ensuring green spaces and promoting residental developement. She was a member of the Heather Curling Club and competed in bonspiels into her senior years.
