With great sadness and thanksgiving, the family of Donald Wayne Fowler announce his peaceful passing, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, October 19, 2021.
Born in Holtville, NB, December 2, 1931, he was the son of the late James & Christina (Fairley) Fowler.
For 60 years of his life, Don worked as a scaler for numerous companies throughout New Brunswick, including Fraser Company, Newcastle, NB, James Sparks & Sons, Stanley, NB, J. D. Irving, in Miramichi and Saint John, NB, Dead River Lumber, Deersdale, NB, Acadia Pulp & Paper, Nelson, NB, Northwood in Bushville, NB, and UPM Kymmene, Newcastle, NB. After retirement, he spent 10 years with Fawcett Lumber Company, Petitcodiac, at Lower Newcastle. He did deviate from his love of scaling and nature for a short time; he worked as a car salesman in Fredericton, NB, a furniture salesman at Levines in Fredericton, NB and worked a stint at Point LePreau. He was a member of the Shriners (Fredericton & Newcastle) and the Masons (Boiestown).
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 39 years, Marilyn Creamer-Fowler of Miramichi, NB, his sons Everett (Susan) of Holtville, NB, Joey (Vicki) of Boiestown, NB and step-son, Kendall (Mia) of Vancouver, BC; daughters Evelyn Fowler and Natalie Steen of Fredericton and step-daughter Jennifer Howard (Gerald Walsh) of Enfield, NS. He is also survived by his chosen son, Tom Gibson (Anna Marie) of Fredericton, NB, his grandchildren, Craig, Chris, Amy, Abby, Adam, Billie-Joe, Josh and Jamie, his step-grandchildren Grayson, Allyse, Darren, Brandi, in laws, Noreen Poirier (late Al), Nick Creamer (Ann Esson), Barbara Hogan (late David), Adrian Creamer (Keltie Reid), Brian Creamer (Penny Farrah) and Ann Innis (Edward), and by several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Don was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother Everett, his sister, Edna Gibson, his son, Nathan Fowler, step-son, Derek Howard, son-in –law Wayne Steen, daughter in law, Brenda Fowler, the mother of his children, Geraldine (Priest) Leeming, and his father and mother in law Danny & Marion Creamer.
Don will be missed by many friends, including all of his Tim Horton’s buddies and his special neighbors, May Hallihan and Ricky & Kari-Lynn Bryenton.
Donald Wayne Fowler is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy with visitation on Friday from 6-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stephen Ashfield officiating. Burial will follow in St Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
In his memory, donations to Shiners Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated by the family.
PLEASE NOTE: Covid-19 Protocols will be followed at both Visitation and Funeral Service. Masks, Social Distancing, Hand Sanitizing and proof of Vaccination and Identification are Mandatory.
