Donald Poirier
1949-2021
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – It is with great sadness
that the family announces the passing of Donald Poirier, 72, at his
home in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Wednesday, May
5th, 2021. Born in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, he was
the son of the late Louis and Jeannita (Goguen)
Poirier.
Donald was known as a very welcoming person and a great
friend to many. He had a big heart and was always willing to help and
encourage anyone who was in need. He was the rock of his family,
always there to support them.
Donald leaves to mourn his loving wife, Rose-May Poirier
(née Arseneault); his two daughters, Diane Taylor (Jeff) of
Saint-Louis-de-Kent and Lisa Johnson (Bob) of St. Ignace; as well as
his four grandchildren, Sean, Robin, Isabel and
Rémi.
Donald will also be sadly missed by his four sisters, Rose
Robichaud (Paul) of Moncton, Yvette Robichaud (Albé) of
Dieppe, Lilianne Blanchard (Yvon) of St. Antoine and Marion Blanchard
(Josephat) of Dieppe; his brother Bernard (Brenda) of Shediac; his
three sisters-in-law, Petra-Ann Poirier of Hamilton, ON, Flavie
Poirier of Saint-Louis-de-Kent and Jeannine Poirier of Shediac; his
brother-in-law, Bernard of St. Charles; as well as by his many nieces
and nephews.
Besides his parents, Donald is predeceased by his sister,
Denise Vautour and by his three brothers, Sammy, Elmo and
Gérard.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Memorial
Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Sunday from 7-9pm and Monday from 9am
until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Monday, May 10th, 2021 at 11am, St-Louis-des-Français Roman
Catholic Church, St. Louis.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, a maximum of 50 people at a time
are allowed in the funeral home and the family asks that this
visitation and funeral be kept to family members and friends to avoid
overcrowding. Masks are mandatory and we ask that social distancing be
respected.
