Desmeules, Dona Marie
September 28th, 1953 – June 3rd, 2021
Passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on June 3rd, in her 67 year. Survived by her loving husband and partner, Devon Pearce. Beloved mother of Jahson, Llijah, and Elishjah. Proud Grandmother to Harlan, Blayne, and Pheonix. Born daughter to Florence Ernst and Donald Schnare (deceased), and raised by foster mother, Juanita Hardwick (deceased). Best friend and Sister to Marie Doubleday (Bill, husband). Sister to heather Barton (Al, husband), Linwood Ernst (Kelly, partner), and Donald Desmeules (Iris, wife). Loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Dona tackled seemingly insurmountable hurdles all throughout her life. Ready to fully engage in all challenges, Dona moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario where she met her life partner and started a family of her own. Dona had many passions. She found herself most content surrounded by family in green spaces. She loved to garden, camp, and take long drives in the country side. She was a natural designer and took pride in her home and its elegance. Most may remember her for her cooking. She had a flair for the creation of Jamaican cuisine, and most visitors were blessed with food for the road. Family is everything to Dona and it is through this that her legacy will live on. Dona’s smile, vibrant energy, positive nature, and endlessly compassionate soul will be how she is remembered. Venture onwards peacefully knowing that you are loved, and your love forever grows.
