Passed away with family by his side at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Sunday September 19th, 2021 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Patricia Clarke (nee Lee) for 20 years. Loving father of Terry Clarke and Lianne Clark (Greg). Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Noah and Grayson. Dear Brother of David Clarke (Frances), Terry Clarke (Dianne), Michael Clarke (Lynn), Trudy Baker (Steve). Brother in law to Michael Lee
(Linda), Barbara Lee (Bart Yule) and Terry Elliott. Derek will be missed and lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Derek was a member of the Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans Unit 400 Orillia as well as Moose Lodge 1217 Orillia. He loved to play billiards, darts and was an avid golfer. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Derek’s life will be held at the Army, Navy & Airforce Club, 74 Victoria St, Orillia at a date to be announced. The family would like to offer a very sincere thank you to Dr. Lai, Dr. Russell and Dr. Yoon as well as all the wonderful staff at the Royal Victoria Cancer Centre and Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
