It is with heartfelt sadness that we announced the passing of our beloved Dad – Dennis Rodgers Hushagen.
He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his adorning family and friends on July 7, 2021 at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with occupational cancer. Next to his family, his 34 year career with the Edmonton Fire Department was one of his proudest accomplishments and he retired as a District Chief in 2015. Dennis was a true traveller, a mesmerizing storyteller, and a captivating presence in any room. He had a great love for skiing, dips in the ocean and “keeping busy”. His flair for life, goofy personality and ease of conversation earned him many long and lasting friendships.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bud and Marion, and his darling wife Patricia. Dad will be eternally missed by his daughters Tesa (Sean) and Kenya (Jamie), his two “Sweetie” granddaughters Josephine and Everly, his loving sister Leigh Anne (Dave) and many extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on July 17 at 2pm at Knox Evangelical Church (8403 104 St NW) – Summertime celebration attire is strongly encouraged
Please join us at the Shamrock Curling Club (9330 80 Ave NW) following the service to remember and celebrate Dennis’ life.
Please do not attend the service if you have any cold or flu like symptoms. Masks are optional.
