It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Debra Jane Gioia on Thursday, September 16,
2021 at the Moncton City Hospital.
Debra or Debby as she preferred
to be called was born in Bristoff, France on January 7, 1959. She is
predeceased by her parents: Kenneth R.J. Gioia and Catherine
(Chapman-Turner) Gioia.
Debby is survived by her
partner: Allan W Lutes, son: Jason Blais (Natalia), precious grandson:
Philip (flip), sisters: Susan (and Cecil) Miller, Beverly (and David)
Wilt, brother: Kenneth Gioia JR (Kim), nieces and nephews: Amanda,
Julie, Kayleigh, Janessa, Emily, Tony, Christopher, and
Kenny.
Debby was a hard working
successful business woman who was never afraid to speak her mind. She
was genuinely interested in the well being of other people and through
the years showed a great dedication to helping others when and
wherever she could; from sharing her wisdom and offering advise to
friends and colleagues to handing out gift cards in the grocery stores
at Christmas to anyone whom she felt needed them. Debby’s
desire to help others, her ability to empathize, her absolute honesty,
and positive energy has brought her into the hearts of countless
people. She will be greatly missed by
many.
Debby was interested in and
pursued a number of other hobbies in her life including downhill
skiing, soaking up nature’s beauty while on her snow mobile,
or her motorcycle in the summer months. She enjoyed writing poetry,
gourmet cooking, camping, boating, photography, and spending time with
her loved ones at the cottage. Debby will live on within the hearts of
her family and friends and in the hearts of all the others she has
touched in her celebrated lifetime.
Wake service will be held on
Sunday, September 19, from 1pm – 4pm at Fergusons Funeral Home located
at 1657 Mountain Rd, Moncton, NB (858-1995). Online condolences for
