1929-2020
At the Tobique Valley Manor, Plaster Rock, August 7, 2020,
Mrs. Dawn Bessie Sorensen (nee Dixon) of New Denmark passed away at
the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald
Sorensen in 1971. Born at Grand Falls in 1929, she was a
daughter of the late Irvin and Elsie (Jensen) Dixon.
Mrs. Sorensen was a life member of the Grand Falls Royal
Canadian Legion, Branch 21 Ladies’ Auxiliary and was a Boy Scout
Leader for many years.
She is survived by four children: Barbara MacLean of Ottawa,
ON, Betty Briggs (Philip) of Sisson Ridge, NB, Keith Sorensen (Barb)
of Lakefield, ON and Roger Sorensen (Mary) of St. Almo, NB; nine
grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews,
sister Beverley Manley of Wells, Maine. She was predeceased
by three sisters: Wanda Christensen, Jean Paynter and Faye Race; two
brothers: Doug and Philip Dixon.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday,
August 18th at 2 p.m. from the Bethany Lutheran Church, New Denmark
with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are by O’Regan’s Funeral Home Ltd.
