David Oliver Hoare
Hoare, David Oliver – Age 73, Valley, Colchester County, NS, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at home surrounded by family. David was born in Truro on June 24, 1947 to the late Oliver Chesley and June Evangeline (Hardacher) Hoare in the Maternity Annex of the Truro Hospital on Queen Street.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shiela Margaret (Lutes) Hoare; sons, Michael, Upper North River, Daniel, Bible Hill; grandson, Wesley, Valley; chosen granddaughters, Grace, Truro and Dulce Tierra Nuevo Sol, Colombia; siblings, Harold and Eva.
David loved spending time in the woods either Christmas Tree Shearing, doing things in forestry or with the blueberries. He was skilled at map making and cruising lots for Scott Paper, etc. Family and friends loved listening to his stories and travels. David loved family gatherings and shooting the breeze. You could always find him with his many friends, socializing in the morning at Tim Horton’s in Bible Hill.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 14, 2021 from 2 – 4p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place. A Graveside service will be held at a later date to be announced. No flowers by request. Donations if so desired, may be made to charity of your choice.
