David Moore 1941-2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Moore on April 9,2021 at the Vancouver Lions Gate Hospital after a valiant battle with lymphoma. He will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed.
David grew up in Falconbridge, Ontario. He attended Sudbury High School (1959), then graduated with an engineering degree from the University of Manitoba (1963) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario (1969). He went on to work for Babcock and Wilcox in Sales and Marketing for 35 years, travelling to over 50 countries.
David retired to Squamish, BC in 2006 with his wife Gerd of 51 years where they enjoyed skiing and hiking in the mountains; travelling the world; and relaxing at Lake Wanapitei in Northern Ontario, while labouring on their old cottage. They loved adventure and shared their passions with family and friends.
A devoted husband and the ultimate family man, David was preceded by his eldest son, Robert. Left to mourn are Gerd; his son Kenneth (and wife Elizabeth); his daughter-in-law Catherine; his grandchildren, Mary, Erik, Astrid, Anders, and Karina; his sisters JoAnn and Loreen; and a large circle of extended family and friends.
An online celebration of David’s life is planned. Condolences may be expressed online at www.squamishfuneralchapel.com
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Camp Kerry Society (www.campkerrysociety.org) or Doctors Without Borders (www.doctorswithoutborders.ca).
