of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, December 24, 2021 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the late Connie Lynn (Woodford) Bantam(2012). Dave is survived by daughters Donna Shalen of London, Michelle Manicom of London and devoted daughter and care giver Mary Lou Jans(John O’Brien) of St. Thomas . Also survived by his sister Gertrude (Gertie) Fewster and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by five brothers: Victor, Leland, Bob, Phillip and Howard and by three sisters: Bernice, Mildred and Wilma. Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on March 7, 1945, son of the late George and Evelyn (Greenland) Herman. From a young age, Dave enjoyed the challenge of fixing and welding equipment. He worked for Clarke Equipment, VME and Contram Manufacturing as a Tool and Die Maker, as well as a Jig and Fixture Builder for production parts. In 1990, Dave operated Down to Earth Landscaping in Aylmer. Dave was a dedicated and valued member of the Aylmer Committee of Ducks Unlimited. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Please call the funeral home at 519-773-8400 to register for the funeral. COVID RULES WILL APPLY. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan.9 from 2-4 p.m. Interment, Springford Cemetery.
