Obituary of Darrell Wayne Tracey
Darrell Wayne Tracey, 78 of Wolfville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born on September 27, 1943, he was the son of the late James and Rosie (Rogers) Tracey.
Over the years Darrell worked at Hennigar’s Farm, Best Buy Flooring, The Irving Centre at Acadia, and Land of Evangeline during his retirement years.
Darrell was an avid deer hunter and treasured his long walks with his dogs. He was a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed winter cruises and trips to Florida.
He is survived by his loving partner of 37 years, LaDene Weir; his children, Tammy (Todd) Nickerson, Rosemary Tracey, and Michael (Jill) Tracey; step-daughter, Lynn Weir; brothers Doug (Shirley) and David (Carmelita); sister, Cheryl Smith; sister-in-law, Elsie Tracey; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Darrell was predeceased by brothers Richard and William “Bill”; sisters Gladys Jodrey and Carole Tracey; step-son-in-law, Maurice Woodworth; brothers-in-law David Jodrey and Frank Smith.
A special thank you to his daughter Tammy, for her tireless support throughout Darrell’s illness. The family would like to acknowledge the ICU nurses and doctors at the Valley Regional Hospital for their exceptional care of Darrell.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the White Rock Cemetery, COVID protocol will be followed. By request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
