Cora Marie Wynn – Age 85, Hilden. The family of Cora Wynn regretfully announces her passing on September 26, 2021 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. She was born to the late Hollis and Winnifred “Winnie” (Chapman) Carter.
Cora is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Wynn, Hilden; daughter, Karen Wynn, North River; son, Evan Wynn (Debbie), Belmont; grandson, Robert “Bobby Joe” Benvie; granddaughters, Melissa Benvie and Megan Wynn; brothers, Arnold Carter, Hollis Carter (Vonnie), Stanley Carter (Francis); sisters, Lucy Weatherbee (Malcolm), Dale Carter, Brenda Dickie, Shelly Angevine (Richard) and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Garth and Calvin; sister, Denise and grandson, Ryan Wynn.
She loved her family and would help anyone who needed it. She worked at Kmart from the time it opened until it’s closing in 1998 at which time, she retired. She belonged to many groups in Hilden such as the U.C.W., Fireside Club, Garden Club, and the Hilden Fire hall Women’s Auxiliary for many years. She also belonged to the Truro & Area and East Hants Bluegrass Associations. Cora always looked forward to going to the Bluegrass jam sessions and camping at the Bluegrass Festivals. She loved the cottage and sunbathing. She was proud of her many houseplants and outdoor flower gardens and bushes.
No visitation by request.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 4th at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Phillip Kennedy officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
