Conrad John Burchart
Peacefully at Miramichi Lodge on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Conrad John Burchart of Pembroke, beloved husband of Merle Burchart (nee Ryan). Loved and cherished father of David Burchart (Laurie), Sharon O’Hara (Pat), Dean Burchart (Patricia), all of Pembroke, Bruce Burchart (Edda), Toronto, Suzanne Wentzel (Jan), Ottawa and Jennifer Nickerson (Pat Murphy), Pembroke.
Loving Poppato Jillian, Holly, Shawn, Ryan, Katie, Danika, Johnny, Mike and Adam. Great grandfather to Zoey, Samson, Joley, Jordyn, Jacob, Margot, Clark, Knox, and Cage.
Brother of Verla Handke (late Lorne), Barbara Schauer (Elwyn), Frank Burchart (Rita), Joan Laforce (late William), Mona LeMaitre (Marcel), Eldon Burchart (Sheilah), Beverley LeMaitre (Joe) and predeceased by his brother Merrill Burchart and infant brother Erich and infant sister Sandra. Son of the late Herman and Bertha (nee Panke) Burchart.Conrad will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews.
Always a jokester, Dad loved to make people laugh with his many stories and off the cuff comments.
He enjoyed hosting family and friends at their home on the Ottawa River and at the cottage at Stevenson Lake. Dad also loved his winters in Florida with Mom and their many friends and family.
Dad was the last remaining founding member of the Black Velvet Hunt Club established in1960. He now joins the other original members to continue those good times in higher and happier hunting grounds.
Despite declining health Dad remained good natured and joked with his nurses and caregivers to the very end. He was truly blessed with the care he received on floor 2B of Miramichi Lodge.
Due to the restrictions of COVID-19 a private funeral will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home. A “Celebration of Life” will be announced andheld at a later date.
In memory of Conrad, donations to Miramichi Lodge or the Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated.
