Obituary of Clyde Walter McDermott
Clyde Walter McDermott age 86 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Clyde was born October 13, 1934 in Corning, NY the son of the late Clyde William McDermott and Elizabeth Borst McDermott. He was also pre-deceased by his brother George McDermott. Clyde was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute . He was an accountant and treasurer of Brady Supply in Elmira, NY. Clyde married his wife , Mary Ida Hovey McDermott, on August 19, 1972 and they would have celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary this year. Clyde loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Clyde is survived by his wife Mary Ida Hovey McDermott ; daughter and son-in-law: Marta and Michael Bahantka of Elmira, NY ; grandsons: Lance Bahantka and Emry Bahantka; sisters and brother-in-law: Beverly McDermott of Arkansas , Patricia and Larry Dakin of Florida , and Louise “Sharon” Robbins of Corning , NY; several nieces , nephews , cousins, and a host of caring friends. It was the Clyde’s wish that there be no calling hours or services. Clyde will be laid to rest in Addison Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the Family.
