Clyde’s Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Clyde Barney of L’Anse au Loup, Newfoundland & Labrador at the L.A. Miller Centre into the arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ aged 75 years.
On February 25, 1987, he trusted Christ as his Saviour and served Him faithfully and lived his life with hope and joy of the promise of one day being with his Lord.
John 14:1-3 1 Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare s a place for you, I will come again, and received you unto myself; that were I am, there you may be also
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Sandra Barney (nee Pinsent) of 45 years; children, Rodney (Elizabeth) Barney of Gander, NL, Tammy (Greg) Hynes of Paradise, NL; and his two granddaughters who he adored, Peyton and Raina Hynes: siblings: Lavender (Stella) Barney, of L’Anse au Loup, NL, and Etta Barney of L’Anse au Loup, NL; nieces, Sharlene (Ewart) Linstead of L’Anse au Loup, NL and Daisy (Darrin) Andrews of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; As well as a large circle of beloved extended relatives and friends.
Our Dad was a man of faith, he was often found reading his Bible and enjoyed talking about the scriptures. He had a rewarding career as a self-employed electrician where he served the Labrador Straits and area for many years until his retirement. He loved sharing stories about his life experiences and the many wonderful people he met during his career. He was a man that anyone in the community could call upon for a helping hand.
He loved learning about life, he enjoyed figuring out problems, and was always up for the challenge of a brain teaser puzzle.
Our gratitude and thanks are extended to the many wonderful medical professionals at the Cancer Centre, Health Sciences, St. Clare’s and the Miller Centre for their care and support during his last days.
In keeping with the COVID-19 regulations there will be no public visitation or funeral service. The visitation and funeral service will remain private for the family by invitation only.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
