March 13, 1929 – November 8, 2021
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 8, 2021. He was in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Kay Bruce. Loving father to David (Dianne), Jerry (Marion) and Ann (Don Ebert). He leaves behind his loving grandchildren Laurie, Jeff, Jaclyn, Terilyn, Amanda and Tyler and his great grandchildren Jack and Connor. Dear son of the late Robert Bruce and Dora (nee Kelly). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Cliff was a truck driver for many years, having driven logging trucks, fuel tankers, milk transports and later on, school buses. He also managed a farm. He was an active member of the farming community around North Gower Ontario. He was quick to help many friends and neighbours. He held a lifelong love for horses and always had a team around to hitch up and take family and friends for sleigh rides, until he had to hang up the reins. After hanging up his farm tools, he moved into Extendicare Medex in Ottawa where he enjoyed 3 more years together with Kay. He will be fondly remembered by the staff and residents having lived there for 12 years. The family would like to thank all of the amazing staff at Medex for their exceptional love, care and support to Cliff and his family. Friends and family may visit at the Kemptville Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 805 Prescott Street, Kemptville on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Service at St. Clare Mission Roman Catholic Church, 4001 Dwyer Hill Road, Dwyer Hill on Monday November 15, 2021 at 10:30am. Interment will follow the service at St. Clare Cemetery, Dwyer Hill. Attendance for both the visitations and the service are limited and guests must register in advance on the website of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry at www.hpmcgarry.ca Donations to Heart & Stroke gratefully accepted.
