Obituary of Chuck Hamilton
Of Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 84, passed away June 26, 2021, (at 10 a.m.) with his loving wife, Dianne, and daughter, Michelle, by his side. He was a devoted grandfather to Sydney and Jameson, and will be missed by his dear friend, Rose and his many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his daughter, Wendy, and granddaughter, Kristina, from a previous marriage. Chuck was a proud veteran and Dofasco retiree, where he served on many committees, including volunteering with the annual Dofasco Christmas Party for 40 years, an event which he cherished. Chuck and Dianne are long time members of Winona Gospel Church where Chuck served as a Deacon for many years. He was an avid sports fan and an accomplished athlete who played softball for over 70 years. He was an excellent first baseman and a formidable pitcher who was famous for his knuckleball. Chuck also enjoyed roller skating, golf and playing pool. He loved sharing his knowledge, skills, axioms, wisdom, humour, and stories with others. He was a life-long Chicago Blackhawks fan. His many friends will remember him for his immense generosity, social visits, corny jokes, love for games, “mandatory” weekly coffee dates, and passion for the number ‘10’. A special thank you to the incredible staff of St. Peter’s Hospital for their never-ending compassion, care, and support. Cremation has already taken place. An interment service is planned for Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., to be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 700 Chapel Hill Road in Stoney Creek. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, in accordance with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario facial mask/coverings are required.
