Obituary for
Christine “Chris” Zurburg
Surrounded by her loving family, Christine “Chris” Zurburg, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2021, at the age of 46 years.
Christine is survived by her loving parents, Jerome and Sylvia Zurburg; sister, Dione Zurburg; as well as numerous relatives. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all; she left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Christine was actively involved in giving back to the community. She had a lifelong passion for volunteering, whether at countless community events or serving on numerous committees.
She was a patient advisor, an animal lover, a devout Riders fan, and above all else, a breast cancer warrior. She absolutely loved playing ball hockey and curling. She lived her life to the fullest, pursuing everything that was meaningful to her.
The family is eternally grateful to all who have reached out to them during this difficult time.
Per Christine’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when COVID restrictions are lifted.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Christine’s honour to SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society), Box 3045, Athabasca, AB T9S 2B9; or to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G IZ2
