Catherine Ann Koolen nee Irvine November 15th 1951 December 25th 2021

Cathy is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gerry Koolen and her two children, Gareth Harris (Alison) and Mike Koolen (Lori). She was a loving Nana to Leah and Bryce Koolen. Cathy will be missed both by her brother David Irvine (Janice), her sister Jan Vogel (Peter), and very special aunt, Margaret Jones. Her nephews Jason, Christopher & Pierre, James & Elliott will miss her infectious laugh and smiles.
Cathy was loved by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Cathy was a Special Education Specialist for the Lambton Kent District School Board for many years. After retirement, she taught for Western University. Cathy was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clocks Collectors (Star Fellow) and the Music Box Society International, Midwest Chapter.
Cathy changed the lives of everyone who met her.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Due to COVID restrictions, those who wish to attend the visitation must sign up: signup.com/go/UYBEKgH. Due to Covid restrictions, the funeral will be by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Joseph Hospice, Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario (cheques only at the funeral home please).
