Carolyne Wenban passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021. Born along the Thames, in 1936, Carolyne’s life was shaped by the effects of WWII and the bombs that ravaged the area. The difficult times forced a no-nonsense approach to life which served her well for the rest of her days. At the age of 19, Carolyne immigrated to Canada, on her own, spending a year in Toronto, before returning to Swanscombe, where she met and married her husband of 54 years, Bill. With their two young sons, they returned to Canada and forged a wonderful life together. Carolyne was an energetic firecracker with an endless zest for life: she was involved in countless activities, classes and events and gave her time to many. From painting and art classes, music lessons, language classes, baking for local seniors, captain of the neighbourhood watch, volunteering at the hospital and her involvement at the Gorge Vale golf club, she was tirelessly involved in the community. While Carolyne and Bill took many wonderful trips, their waterfront home in Victoria, was her happy place where she took pride in keeping a large and beautiful garden. Preceded in death by her husband William, in 2013, Carolyne leaves behind her loving sons, Mark and Michael, and granddaughters, Megan, Erin, and Eli, an extended family in England and abroad, and many friends. Her sense of humor and love of life will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be arranged once appropriate.
