Calvin Murrin
July 12, 1933 – July 25, 2021
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of The late Calvin Murrin of Gillams, NL at the age of 88 years.
Forever remembered by his children, Ferlin (Colleen) Murrin, daughter Marizona (David) Murrin, Todd (Cathy) Murrin; grandfather to Chad (Paula) Murrin, Corissa Murrin, Sheena (Dwayne) House, Shannon (Leslie) Murrin, Alex Murrin; great-grandfather to Nathan (Angel), Alexis, Mia and Jack; great-great-grandfather to Chase.
Calvin was predeceased in death by his parents, William and Alice Murrin, and his wife Dina, 2020.
Survived by sisters, Susie Best, Doreen Payne; sisters-in-laws: Doreen Murrin, Lena Crocker, Tilly (Fred) Pynn, Doreen Lewis, Donna (Kevin) Blanchard; brothers-in-law: Tom Byrne, Russel (Linda) Wells, Benny (Gloria) Wells; special “niece” Marla (Ronald) Pumphrey. Further survived by a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Calvin’s happy place after his retirement, was spent at his trailer in Birchy Narrows, where he enjoyed berry picking, fishing and hunting.
The family would like to thank the staff and Doctors at the Chemo Unit in WMRH, for the extraordinary Care and compassion shown to our father throughout his illness. Dr Wadhwa, Thank you for your dedication to your work and for your patients. Thank you to The Palliative Care Unit for the compassion and care shown to our father and family during his stay.
Calvin has requested to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chemo Unit or the charity of one’s choice.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends.
