It is with sadness that we announce the death of Bryan Gagnon at the age of 91 years, on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Sensenbrenner Hospital. Bryan was born and raised in South Porcupine, Ontario. In 1950, he was sent to Kapuskasing for a 6-month contract, where he met and fell in love with Marie Kosowan, and never left. He was a founding partner in the accounting firm André Gagné & Bryan Gagnon, now part of Baker Tilly Kapuskasing. After 42 years of practice, he retired in 1992. He was a member of the Kinsmen Club, the Rotary Club of Kapuskasing and the Sensenbrenner Hospital Auxiliary. He also volunteered for numerous years as the treasurer for the Diocese of Moosonee, Anglican Church of Canada. In his spare time, he enjoyed travelling with his motorhomes, camping with his family, and the companionship of his four-legged friends.
He is survived by his children: Anne-Louise Beach (late Jim) of Red Deer, Laurie May (Bill) of Sault Ste. Marie, and Eric (Lise) of Kapuskasing; one sister, Marla Latham of Timmins; as well as seven grandchildren: Taylor (Mary), Jesse (Lisa), Emily (Jace), Justin, Bryanne, Riley, and Griffin. He will be fondly remembered as a favourite uncle Bryan to numerous nieces and nephews from the Gagnon, Latham and Kosowan families. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Marie; his parents, William and Mary; and his big brother, Gerry.
Bryan Gagnon will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 14, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Proof of double vaccination is mandatory for admittance to the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church with Reverend Anne Stenabaugh officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. The family would greatly appreciate donations to the North Centennial Manor or the Kapuskasing Food Bank as expressions of sympathy. ©

Every person present must wear a suitable mask at all times. Visitors must also clean their hands with hand sanitizer. Everyone must follow proper health and safety advice, including physical distancing of two metres for people who are not from the same household or their established social circle.

C’est avec tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Bryan Gagnon à l’âge de 91 ans, le samedi 11 septembre 2021, à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner. Bryan est né et a grandi à South Porcupine. En 1950, il fut affecté à Kapuskasing pour un contrat de six mois, où il a tombé en amour avec Marie Kosowan, et il n’a jamais quitté Kapuskasing. Il fut un des partenaires fondateurs du cabinet de comptabilité André Gagné et Bryan Gagnon, qui fait partie aujourd’hui de Baker Tilly Kapuskasing. Bryan a pris sa retraite en 1992, après 42 ans de pratique. Il fut membre des Kinsmen, le Club Rotary de Kapuskasing et l’auxiliaire de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner. Il fut bénévole pendant de nombreuses années comme trésorier pour le Diocèse de Moosonee, Église Anglicane du Canada. Dans son temps libre, il aimait voyager avec ses autocaravanes, le camping avec sa famille et ses copains à quatre pattes.
Bryan laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Anne-Louise Beach (feu Jim) de Red Deer, Laurie May (Bill) de Sault Ste. Marie, et Eric (Lise) de Kapuskasing; une sœur : Marla Latham de Timmins; sept petits-enfants : Taylor (Mary), Jesse (Lisa), Emily (Jace), Justin, Bryanne, Riley, et Griffin. Plusieurs neveux et nièces des familles Gagnon, Latham et Kosowan garderont de tendres souvenirs de lui comme leur oncle préféré. Il fut prédécédé par le grand amour de sa vie, Marie; ses parents, William et Mary; et son grand frère, Gerry.
Bryan Gagnon reposera au Salon funéraire Guenette le mardi 14 septembre de 19h à 21h. Il faut présenter une preuve de double vaccination pour entrer au Salon. Un service funèbre privé aura lieu en l’église St. Mark’s avec la Révérende Anne Stenabaugh comme célébrante. L’inhumation suivra au cimetière de Kapuskasing. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons au Manoir North Centennial ou à la Banque alimentaire de Kapuskasing comme témoignage de sympathie. ©
