Obituary of Brian Donald Strachan
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Strachan, age 78, on Saturday, June 5, 2021. in his garden, at his home in Port Perry. Brian will forever by remembered and cherished as the devoted and loving husband of Carol (nee Dowker). Loved brother of Faye Sturge and the late Evan Strachan. Dear brother in law of Dennis Dowker and his husband the late Sandy Morgan, and Donna and her husband Bob Faulkner and the late Harvey Dowker and his wife Denise. Brian, will be missed by his nieces Erin, Lesley, and Beau, Cynthia and Kim, Fleur, Jennifer and the late Graham.
Brian completed his undergraduate degree at Western University and his post graduate degree at the University of Michigan. As music teacher, consultant, adjudicator, clinician and professor of music education at Western University, Brian’s dedication and passion for music education will live on through the countless students, teachers, and colleagues that were inspired and encouraged by him.
Once the restrictions of COVID-19 have eased, a Service to Celebrate the Life of Brain Strachan will be held at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). Interment Prince Albert Pine Grove Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.waggfuneralhome.com
