Bradley James BARKER 2021

BARKER, Bradley J. – It’s with great sadness that we have to say our goodbyes to another incredible man.
Bradley James Barker passed away on July 19, 2021 at age 65, surrounded by his family, in his hometown of Centerville, ON.
Brad is survived by his beautiful partner and best friend Wendy. He was the amazing and loving father to daughter Angela (Chad); the proud Papa to Arika, Taylor, Kylie and Spencer; great Papa to Connor.
Loving son of the late Jack and Jeanette; brother of the late Johnny (Linda), Colleen (Donald) and Tom; brother-in-law of Toni. Brad cared so much for all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. My dad had such an amazing group of friends who have always been there for him.
We would like to say a very special “thank you” to Barb Benjamin for always being a dear friend “Sparky”. Brad enjoyed his time fishing, attending and cheering on ringette, hockey and baseball games. Brad also cheered on the Boston Bruins for many years with Bobby Orr being his number one hockey player, not to mention he enjoyed a Boston Cream donut from time to time. He loved attending horse races, playing slots and visiting with his family and friends, which sometimes ended with “okay, got to go”.
My dad has spent the last 43 years in a wheelchair and has showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Brad came out a “hero” and stayed strong until the end. We have all shared great memories of my dad throughout the years and will forever cherish those memories in our hearts. We will miss him more than he will ever know. Rest in sweetest peace dad, you will always be our #1 .
Wendy and myself (Angela) would like to send a special “thank you” to nurse Lucia from CCAC as she visited him a couple of times a week to see how he was feeling, to Dr. Walsh and the nursing staff on the 3rd floor at Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll for taking such good care of my dad while he was there, to Dr. MacLean and his assistant that were able to make my dad so comfortable with his last wish. He went so peacefully and respectfully. A friend of my father has told me a quote that I will remember forever, “It shouldn’t be where have you been? It should be how are you doing?”
Brad’s wishes were followed by his cremation through the Francis Funeral Home in Tavistock, ON with no service. Wendy and I will be planning a “Celebration of Life” at a later date to be announced.
Donations to St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation – Spinal Cord Research would be appreciated www.sjhc.london.on.ca/ways-to-give/donate-commemorative Personal condolences can be posted at www.francisfh.ca
