Bernard “Bernie” Burgess
1951-2021
SAINT-CHARLES, NB – Bernard “Bernie”
Burgess, 69, of Saint-Charles, passed away peacefully at home on
Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Born in Rexton, he was the son of the late
Gerald Francis and Catherine (Daigle) Burgess. Before retiring, Bernie
worked as an Air Traffic Controller.
Bernie leaves to mourn his loving wife, Alexantine (Vautour)
Burgess; his step-daughter, Tammy Vautour of Montreal, QC; as well as
his two fur babies, Gracie and Ellie May, whom he loved as his
children.
He will also be sadly missed by his two sisters, Geraldine
Hudson (Ron) of Rexton and Elizabeth Bryce (Tom) of Victoria, BC;
three nieces, Holly, Cathy and Rhonda; his nephew, Andrew; his
grand-niece, Aislin; as well as his two grand-nephews, Jacob and
Nicholas.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home
on Friday, June 4th, 2021 from 7-9 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until
time of funeral. A funeral service will be held at
Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel, Richibucto on Saturday, June
5th, 2021 at 11:00 am.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Eric
Martin, the extra mural staff and the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University
Hospital Centre (Unit 7B) for the excellent care they all provided to
Bernie.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, a maximum of 50 people at a time
are allowed in the funeral home. Masks are mandatory and we ask that
social distancing be respected. The funeral service will be live
streamed from the Thompson’s Funeral Home Facebook
group.
Arrangements are in the professional care of
Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto (523-4252).
