COWLE, Barbara Louise (née Kimmerly) – After a long back nine, on February 23, 2021 in her 96th year, Barb has left the course and headed for the 19th hole to join her many fellow players and loved ones. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur S. Kimmerly and Frances Donnelly, her siblings, Walter Kimmerly, Mary Phillips and Arthur D. Kimmerly and her husband, Lloyd T. Cowle. Survived by her son, Bruce (Donna), her grandchildren Alex (Natasha) and Jocelyn and her step- daughter, Heather Denison (Fred). Special Aunt to Bill Phillips (Susan) and the late John Phillips (Lynne). Barbara lived a full life in her home town of Napanee. Born in the family home on Richard Street, subjected to kidnapping threats in the depression, losing her older brother in WWII, developing a lasting friendship with Sam Snead in the 1950s, marrying and having her only child in the 60s and going into the hotel business in the 70s. She loved people and her family and was a gifted golfer, teaching many the game. A life member of the United Church Women of Trinity United Church and the L & A Historical Society. A graveside service at Bethany Cemetery will take place at a later date. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to Trinity United Church or the Community Foundation for Lennox & Addington.
