It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Barbara Cumben of Grand Bank announces her passing. Barbara passed away at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021, at the age of 71. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband George Cumben of 41 years; son, Jim Peach (Cheryl) of Burton, NB; daughters, Michelle Peach of CBS, Marie Trimm (Stan Jr.) of Grand Bank, Colleen Whittle (Bram) of Grand Bank; sisters, Bernadette Ashford, Cecilia Power (Clyde), Anita Fortune, Louise Lee (Bill); brothers, Angus Ashford, Charlie Ashford (Maxine), Ronald Ashford, Donald Ashford; 5 grandchildren, Kayla, Chad, Joshua, Devon, Brianna and 3 great grandchildren, Lucas, Emma, Kinsleigh; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Barbara was predeceased by daughter, Vanessa Penney; parents, James and Mary Ashford; sister, Betty Thorne; parents in law, Wilfred and Sarah Cumben; brothers in law, Norman Cumben, Keith Cumben.
The Cumben Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Grand Bank 48 Marine Drive Grand Bank, NL A0E 1W0 on Friday, June 4th, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Friday, June 4th, 2021 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Saturday, June 5th, 2021 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions this will be a walk through visitation with a maximum of 20 people permitted in the building at one time. Everyone is asked to please sign the contact sheet upon entering the building and masks are required. Please note that there is no food or beverages permitted in the funeral home.
A funeral service will take place at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, 48 Marine Drive Grand Bank, NL A0E 1W0 on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 at 2:30 pm.
Interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery. In Barbara’s memory donations may be made to Blue Crest Recreation Program.
