Arthur “Art” Richert
August 3, 1928 – November 11, 2021
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, brother, uncle and friend. Arthur “Art” Richert, long-time resident of the Drayton Valley area, passed away at Drayton Valley Hospital on the evening of Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the age of 93 years.
Art will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Lillian; brother, Avolt (Hilda) Richert; sister, Teresa Awrey; numerous special nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Marion (Gordon) Thomas and Alice Anderson and brother-in-law, Lyle Combs.
Art was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Bertha and sister, Hertha Draebert.
Art spent his entire life driving truck and found much joy in restoring antiques and being on the farm. He had a great love for his church and the many life-long friendships made.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
There will be a viewing open to public on Friday, November 19, at 7:00pm in the Affinity Chapel, 5001 45 Avenue, Drayton Valle, Alberta. A private funeral service will then be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 with Pastor Leah Holmes officiating, with interment at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made directly to STARS or Stollery Children’s Hospital.
