Arnold Hathaway
1946-2021
Arnold James Hathaway of Beech Glen Road, Perth-Andover, NB, passed
away peacefully at the Victoria Glen Manor on the evening of July 27,
2021.
Arnie was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on November 27, 1946. Arnie was
predeceased by his parents, Herman and Pauline (Larlee) Hathaway; his
sister, Joan Hathaway. He leaves behind his sister, Lois Moore (Joe)
of Perth-Andover, NB; his brothers, Murray Hathaway (Shirley) of
Perth-Andover, NB, Roy Hathaway (Maxine) of Fort Fairfield, ME; his
aunts and uncles, Brian and Evelyn Stubbs of Perth-Andover, NB, and
Grover and Eileen Larlee of Arthurette, NB; his nieces, Gloria Girling
(Clinton) of Edson, AB, Heather Hathaway of Fort Fairfield, ME,
Billie-Jo Moore (Kelan) of Fredericton, NB; his nephews, Perley Crain
of Edson, AB, Gary Doody of Caribou, ME, Justin Hathaway (Chealsey) of
Perth-Andover, NB; along with cousins and extended family.
Arnie moved from his hometown of Perth-Andover to Ontario at a young
age where he worked at the Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He move
back to Perth-Andover where he enjoyed his retirement. Arnie loved
mechanics, and built several Ford Mustangs. He showcased these at
provincial car shows with his friend, Rick Murch.
Arnie enjoyed spending time outdoors with his dad, brothers, and
nephews. He was a hunter, and liked to tell stories at the “old
camp on the hill”.
Arnie was a helpful member of his community. He would give small gifts
to improve other people’s day. He often engaged in spontaneous acts of
kindness, without any expectation of compensation.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Doctors Peter
Moore and Allison Kennedy, and all the staff and volunteers that work
at the Victoria Glen Manor for their support while Arnie was a
resident there. A special thank you to Sharon Nye, Danny and Charlene
Stubbs for all their visits and calls.
Respecting Arnie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
held.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the NB Heart and Stroke
Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be
appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
