Obituary
Anthony “Tony” Fiedler of Lethbridge, AB passed away peacefully, with family by his side on December 11, 2021 at Extendicare Fairmont Park.
Tony was born to Gus and Tina Fiedler in Speedwell, SK. Tony joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1952 where he served as a Radar Technician. It was while stationed in Trenton, ON he met and married his wife of 55 years, Maxine. Upon leaving the RCAF in 1972, Tony and Maxine settled into Lethbridge where they bought their first and only home. From 1972 to 1996 Tony worked for Lethbridge Transit, Marconi Canada and as Custodian at LCI. He retired in 1996 but later volunteered at the Red Cross.
Tony loved the outdoors, and spent time camping, fishing, gardening, walking the dog in Pavan Park, and staying at their cabin in Grave Lake. He could often be found doing a crossword puzzle or reading a book while indoors.
He was predeceased by his parents Gus and Tina and by his loving wife Maxine in 2012.
Tony is survived by his daughters Laurie (John) Janzen and Nadine (Tim) Helmer; his siblings, Dan (Sheila) Fiedler, Anne Portelli, Carol (Percy) Motherwell, Rose (Nick) Janzen, Betty (Ken) Odland, Kathi (Ron) Pollard; his grandchildren Erin (Joel) Duda and Kyle Helmer; one great-grandchild Harper Duda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
For those who wish to attend, a gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday December 20, 2021 at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home. Cremation to follow.
The family extends a special thank you to all the staff at Extendicare Fairmont Park for their attention and kindness given to Tony during his residence there.
