Anna’s Obituary
The family of Anna Louise Freeman, Sable River, is very sad to notify friends and colleagues of her unexpected but peaceful passing on June 13 in palliative care at Roseway Hospital in Shelburne. Anna was born in Sable River to the late Maurice and Hilda (Holmes) Freeman, on the very last day of 1941. She grew up in Sable River, and though she lived in many places throughout her life, it was always her intention to return to the place where her family had deep roots. Which is exactly what she did.
Anna wore many hats, among them: wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was a world traveller, a dedicated and ground-breaking professional, a community organizer and change activist, a doer of good deeds, an entrepreneur, a woman of faith and courage, and a fierce and loyal friend.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, her step-mother Jeanette Coffin, and her brother Wayne Freeman. She is survived by her husband Jack Morrison, the love of her life; her beloved sons Mark Freeman, Joshua Morrison, and Luke Morrison; her sisters Marie Freeman (Will Snihur), Ruth Freeman, and sister from another mother Joy Ikede (Basil); sister-in-law Nicole Freeman, nephews Michael Freeman (Natalie), Sean Freeman (Liz) and grand-niece Elizabeth Freeman.
Anna’s family would like to thank all the people who have been so genuinely supportive during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements are being thoughtfully managed by H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Shelburne. There will be a graveside service on Friday June 18th at 1:00 pm from the Hillside Cemetery in Sable River. Current Covid-19 restrictions allow for seventy five attendants with social distancing. The graveside service will be recorded and the link will be uploaded to her obituary later on Friday for friends or family unable to attend. For those who would like to make a donation in Anna’s memory, please consider the Sable River United Baptist Church, or any charity of your choice.
