Obituary
BARTLETT, Allan “Bruce” – Passed away peacefully at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the age of 84. Bruce was the beloved husband of 38 years to Bonnie Bartlett (nee Yearley) of Bracebridge.
Cherished father of Kristi, Roy (France), Paul (Theresa), David, and Stuart (Tami). Proud grandfather of Victor, Maxime, Samuelle, Kurt, Devon, Gabrielle, Alex, Taryn, Christian, Kristopher, Jayme, and Zoe. Great Grandfather of Roy, Hudson, and Marley. Dear Brother of Kenneth Bartlett (Gillian), and Carole Thimidis. Predeceased by his father and mother Roy and Cavell Bartlett.
Bruce was born on July 28th, 1936 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. At age 10 he journeyed by boat with his mother and sister, Carole, to Toronto, ON, where his father had already found a home. His early years were spent playing chess, boxing, and having a wide variety of jobs, his favorites being in computer sales and hotel ownership. In the early 90’s, Bruce and Bonnie decided to move to Bracebridge, ON, to have a better environment to raise their daughter Kristi. Bruce was well known throughout Muskoka, for his many years of being a car salesman. He enjoyed traveling the world and boating on lake Muskoka. He was the life of any party, with his sense of humor, wide variety of jokes and his thirst for knowledge.
On behalf of Bruce’s family, we would like to thank Dr. Gleeson and the nursing staff at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care of Bruce in his final days.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be scattered in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Due to current restrictions, a celebration of life being held at a later date.
