Ahmad Marwan Zayed Tuesday December 7th 2021

Passed peacefully at the age of 77 at the General Hospital surrounded by his wife of 39 years Maha (Hachem) Zayed, his children Tanya, Julia (Amir), Eric, Vanessa (Sean), as well as his brothers Marvin (Bertha), Mahmoud, and Razzak (Lorraine). He was a loving geddo to his two treasured granddaughters, Maya and Kenza. Marwan will be missed by his nephews, his extended family, and close friends from Canada to Oman, and everywhere in between.
The family is deeply grateful to Mark Monaghan, Marwan’s “Canadian brother”, for his constant friendship and support.
Marwan was born in Haifa, Palestine, on June 14, 1944, and he proudly arrived in Canada on December 26, 1969. He was a hard worker and a fun-loving man who lived for celebrations with family and friends. In the summer you could find him on the dock at the cottage overlooking his cherished Lac Paquin. Christmas was his favorite time of year so please raise a glass in his honor as you gather with your families to celebrate this holiday season.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital in Marwan’s name.
The family would appreciate you sharing your happy memories of Marwan. Please click on the Memory Wall located above.

  1. Dear Maha

I remember so well the bus tour Marwan organized for your 40th birthday. Marwan was our tour guide and showed us the place where you met, all the locations that were memorable in your relationship. His love for you and the family was whole-hearted. You have been there for him in the tough times. He often his expressed his gratitude for your support.

Here’s to Marwan’s zest for life. Sending love to you all.

    Louise and Brian
