Obituary of William John Eakins
EAKINS, William John “Bill” – passed away peacefully surrounded by his precious family, on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, just shy of his 73rd birthday (Dec. 11). Dear son of the late Samuel John “Jack” Eakins and the late Beatrice Mae (Cottrell). Dear son-in-law of the late Alan Everett Jones and the late Ruby (Vansicklen). Loving and loved husband (50 Years) of Shirley (Jones). Loving and devoted father of Traci (Jason), Marcy (Patrick), Todd (Teresa), Mandy (John), Wendy (Jeff), Matt (Jackie). “Poor Grandpa” of Marleigh “Marvin”, Connor “ConAir”, Tyler “TyAlair” Kyleigh “Kyle”, Nolan “Nolster”, Liam “LeeHam”, Gavin “Gavster”, Kalie “Kaliewishes”, William “Willis”, David “Davis”, Daxton “Fuzz top”, and Xora “Xorelda”. Dear brother of Tom (late Louise), Joan (late Jack), twin sister Susan (Glenn), predeceased by sister Sharon and brother-in-law John. Dear brother-in-law of Elaine (Lyle), Ronnie (Arlene), Gary (Carol), Arnold (Bonnie). Predeceased by sister-in-law Marilyn and brothers-in-law Glen and Harold. Also, lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Bill had a successful career with Ontario Hydro. Upon retirement, he started Bill’s Pools, fulfilling the dreams of countless families. He loved the outdoors and hunting, but most of all, he loved his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, showing potential sons-in-law his gun collection and entertaining his grandchildren with his injuries, “It’s my leg”. Bill was famous for his barbequing skills and special brunches. As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. A private memorial service will take place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the many friends and family who called Bill during his brief illness. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and medical staff who assisted Bill with his wish to be at home. Those desiring may donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Bill. December 5th.
