Wilfred Edmondson 1934 2020

Obituary of Wilfred Edmondson
On March 26, 2020, Wilfred (Bill) Edmondson quietly took his leave. He was born on July 1934 to Wilfred and Louise Edmondson. Predeceased by brothers Pilot Officer Norman Thomson Edmondson (1944) and Murray Edmondson. Beloved husband of Margaret (Anguish). Cherished father of Suzanne Edmondson (Ian Franklin), Kathryn Turkiewicz (Ron), and Nancy Zecha. Proud and loving Grandpa of Skylar, Angelika, Sebastian and Hunter. Bill was a lover of family, fairness, fall fairs, practical solutions, and dive-bombing innocent conversations with the perfect Shakespearean quotation. Favourite times were spent at the cottage on Eagle Lake, South River. More recently, he relished his outings with the Romeos, Senate on Fridays, Probus, and volunteering at the annual BSO Book Fair. Bill grew up on the Edmondson family farm (Park Road, Brant County), attended Park Road School, Brantford Collegiate Institute and McMaster University, and returned to BCI to teach English, Latin and French, becoming assistant head of the English Department. A natural entrepreneur, he loved being on the land, and developing new projects, including his one-of-a-kind Belholme Trading Company, a popular area destination for 22 years. Bill’s kindness, generosity, humility, and good humour will burn bright in his family’s hearts forever. Cremation has taken place with a private celebration at a future date. Donations to First Baptist Church Food Cupboard or BCHS Foundation are appreciated.
