UDO ENGELLEDER 1939 – 2020
It is with great sadness that Udo Engelleder’s family announces the sudden passing of a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. Udo passed away after a short liver-related illness on August 6th, 2020 at Vancouver General Hospital. Enjoying a career as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer starting in the late 1950’s with CP Air, he worked in the Arctic for numerous years with various companies. Some of his fondest memories came from his time at Field Aviation and Canadian Superior Oil in Calgary AB. He then moved onto Canadian Airlines finally retiring from Air Canada in 2004 in Vancouver BC.
Udo and his wife Georgina (Miner) relocated to Chase B.C. where they spent 16 fun filled years gardening and exploring the area, as well as rebuilding their house from top to bottom. Udo is survived by his wife Georgina (Miner), sons Andrew Engelleder, Martin Engelleder, Martin’s wife Julie Wilson, grandchildren Caitlyn Mai Engelleder-Truong, Anna Martin and Davis Martin, Udo’s sister Rose Estrada (Engelleder), Rose’s husband Guillermo and their daughter Nicole. Udo is predeceased by both his parents Frank and Margaret Engelleder. Udo will be fondly remembered by close lifelong friends and family for his knowledge and willingness to lend a hand either with his skills or his stern advice. He will be lovingly missed but never forgotten.
