It is with heavy hearts and memories of a life well lived that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas Albert Gillingham, at his home, 36 country lane, Massey Drive. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters Samantha (Sean) Kenny, in Prince Albert, SK; Cindy (Tom) Edison, with whom he resided; one son Tom in Corner Brook. His Grandchildren Devin, Brittney (Christian), Kristina, and His little ballerina Morgan. Also leaving to mourn the Mother of his children Marie Gillingham. Tom will also be missed by his 4 brothers Clarence (Rhoda), Melvin (Shirley), Ted, Christopher and his only sister Barbara (Dennis) Kennedy. He will also be missed by his many nephews, nieces, a large number of friends, and other family members. Two special supper and rummoli friends Betty Edison and The Rev Tanya White. Tom was predeceased by his parents Hubert and Mabel Gillingham, sisters Elizabeth (Lewis) Pittman, Rita (George) Lewis and brothers Gerald, Raymond (Theresa) and sister-in-law Francis.
Tom retired as an electrician around the year 2003, he was employed in his job over the years in Corner Brook, Labrador, Bull Arm, and several locations in Ontario. Over his years he also served as a warden at St Mary the Virgin Church in Curling. Tom was a strong male figure in his children’s lives and was a loving grandfather who acknowledged all occasions with a gift and a phone call. He loved a good game of crib, as well as a monthly rummoli game where he counted 200 nickels for each player. Tom had a kind heart and touched many lives, he enjoyed nothing better then telling stories and was always up for a good belly laugh. One could be heard to say that Tom knew something about everything and everyone, his years of Jeopardy never went astray.
