Obituary of Shirley Doris Watts, New Waterford
Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Shirley Doris Watts, 87, peacefully at home on December 28,2020 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to Cecil and Moretta (Boutcher) Kennedy in New Waterford, Nova Scotia on April 04, 1933.
She married Eldon Watts in 1955 and they lived together in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. Together they raised their seven children, Ann Gill (Brent), Carolyn Watts, Theresa MacGibbon (Jerry), Charlotte McAleer (Kirby), Arthur Watts (Ana), Melody Watts, and Steven Watts. She is also survived by daughter, Sharon Parkin (Ken); seven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sid, Winston, and Wayne; sisters Phoebe, Moretta, and Hilda.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eldon; brothers, Russell, Bob, Dave; sisters, Gwen, Bertha, Betty and Marg.
There will be no visitation due to Covid-19 restrictions. A private funeral service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, New Waterford, with Major Linda Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
Memorial donations may be made to The Diabetic Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
