Sherman’s Obituary
OGILVIE, Sherman Mason ~ Age 90, of Weltons Corner, Kings Co., passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Auburn, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Chester and Dorothy (Armstrong) Ogilvie. Sherman worked out west for a short time, at CFB Greenwood for a contractor, drove a school bus and for years ran the family farm in North Kingston. In his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, 4 wheeling and dancing. In recent years, Sherman was an active member of the Annapolis Valley Shooting Sports Club. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Madelyn F. Duncanson; son, Dean (Kerry), Weltons Corner; daughter, Penny, Wilmot; grandchildren, Jane, Bill, Lorne, Liam, Seth and Annika. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Onslow; sister, Hilda Hoare. There will be no visitation or funeral service. He will be buried during a private family gathering at a later date in Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
