It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Sheila Selig on November 24th at Shannex Ryan Hall in Bridgewater. Born in Liverpool on June 7, 1925 she was the daughter and only child of the late George and Elizabeth (Bessie) Chandler. Sheila spent most of her life in Bridgewater where she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, camping, the friendship of neighbors and a good game of cards. She was an original member of the Bridgewater Lioness Club, and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Shelia is survived by sons Peter (Debbie) of Kentville and Paul (Jan) of Pickering, Ontario; grandsons Andrew (Sarah) Selig of Bridgewater, Kyle (Andrea) Selig of Bedford, Christopher (Tara) Selig of Bowmanville, Ont., Karen (Rob) Snow of Oshawa, Ont., and Robert (Brianne) Selig of Oshawa, Ont.. She will also be greatly missed by great-grandchildren Peter, Charlie, Sophie, Evie, Ben, Grace, Lucas, Kayla, Madison, Sydney and Charlotte. She was predeceased by her husband Roy and parents George and Elizabeth “Bessie” Chandler of Liverpool. We would like to thank the staff of Shannex Ryan Hall for their excellent care and friendship for mom over the past 6 years. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. In light of Covid restrictions, there will be no visitation. A private family funeral will be held at a later date at Brookside Cemetery in Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
