Obituary of Sandy Thompson
Passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on November 23, 2020. Born on November 9, 1955, Sandra Lee Thompson of Owen Sound, was in her 66th year.
Loving wife of Doug Acton for 37 years. Dear stepmom of Heidi Lute (Dave) of Port Elgin and Derek Acton (Kelly) of Southampton. Cherished Grandma of TJ, Ava, Jacoby, Hallie, Robin and Sammy. Loved sister of Bonnie Wyonch, stepsister of Diane, Anne, Sandi and Gail, and sister-in-law of Keith Acton (Alice) and Ken Acton (Gail). Special aunt of Heather Shouldice (Mark), Kelly Wyonch, and great-aunt of Ty and Ellie Shouldice. Sandy will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, November 26th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Due to COVID19 restrictions all attendees must wear a mask, follow social distancing protocols and RSVP through the funeral home website or by calling the funeral home. A private funeral service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 27, 2020. Friends are welcome to view the service at 1:00 p.m. via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation or Chapman House would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Online condolences can be sent by visiting Sandy’s memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
