Saint-Damien-de-Kent, N.-B. – Paul Melanson, 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Fidèle and the late Imelda (née: Belliveau) Melanson.
Prior to retirement, M. Melanson worked as a carpenter with Leger and Sons Construction. He enjoyed the outdoors, mowing lawns, farming, but mostly loved spending time with his precious grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bernice (née: Bastarache); his children: Charles Melanson (Jolaine Arsenault) and Lynne Cormier (Ghislain), both of Saint-Antoine; his grandchildren: Janelle, Miguel, Amélie and Alexanne; his brothers: Roger Melanson and Vincent Melanson, both of Saint-Damien; his sister, Claudette LeBlanc (Donald) of Saint-Antoine, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters: Jeannine, Viola and Berthe and also by his brothers: Raoul, Alcide and Zephyr.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, everyone who attends the visitation and funeral will be required to wear a mask.
Visitation will be held from Passage Funeral Chapel, Shediac Bridge, on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 from 2 to 4 pm.
The funeral mass will be held from Saint-Antoine-l’Ermite Roman Catholic Church, Sainte-Antoine-de-Kent, on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 at 7 pm, with a maximum of 80 peoples.
Donations can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or Saint-Antoine parish.
