Roy – Gary Andrew, age 68, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 20th, 2020, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Western Head, Gary was a son of the late Willis and Doris (Huphman) Roy.
Gary was a fisherman for many years before taking a job at South Queens Jr. High School as a custodian, where he worked for a number of years before retiring due to ill health. He was a former member of the Queens County CB Club and Queens Ground Search and Rescue. Gary enjoyed hunting, bowling and he was a very gifted builder of model boats. He had a great sense of humor, loved to tease but he had a warm loving heart. Above all else, Gary was most passionate about his family and spending time with them, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Paula (Conrad); daughter, Callonie Roy (Jay Amero) of Milton; son; Corey Silver, of Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Matthew Goulden, Jasmine Goulden and Maxwell Silver; sisters, Ellen (Eric) Bonnell of Italy Cross, Susan Acker of Halifax; brothers; Burton (Glenda) Roy of Brooklyn and Earl (Jane) Roy of White Point
Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by, sisters Anna Roy-Hanson, Jane Hanson, Rose Roy and Cynthia Wilson; brother Clifford Roy,
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A private family service will be held at a later date.
