Rachel’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the families of Rachel Roberts (nee Brown) announce her passing.
Rachel passed away peacefully on May 23, 2020 in Norris Point, NL, leaving to mourn a large circle of family and friends. They will forever remember her life. Rachel was born in Cow Head on October 19, 1924, raised her family in Sally’s Cove, and spent her time with loved ones playing cards, knitting mittens and sharing stories.
Rachel is previously deceased by her late husband, Leslie Roberts and son-in-law Cecil Oates. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Muriel (Bob), Mary, Simon (Sherry), and Norma (Tom).
She will be fondly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Grandchildren; Ramona (Roger), Randy (Beverley), Hal (Lynn), Neil (Joanne), Trudy (Michael), Chad (Tarah), Philip, Jason (Bonnie), and Gregory (Meghan). Great-grandchildren; Robert (Krisandra), Joshua (Abby), Courtney (Andrew), Jake, Jessica (James), Rebecca, Gage, Mark, Hannah, Emma, and Benjamin. Great-great grandchildren; Paige, Chace, Seanna, Jaxon, and Isabelle.
Rachel is previously deceased by her parents, Henry and Clarice Brown, and siblings; Dorothy (Fred), Gladys (William), Rose Anna (Leslie), Joseph (Blanche), Archibald (Martha), Nellie (Walter), and Bessie (Donald).
Previously deceased by mother-in-law Julia (Freeman), brother-in-laws Hedley and Raymond, and sister-in-law Rhoda (Coyley). She is survived by in-laws Margaret, Marjorie, Joyce (Wilson), and Sterling (Martha).
Due to the Covid-19. Government restrictions, there will be a private family viewing for immediate family only and then a private graveside service will take place on Tuesday, May 26th, 2020, at 2:00 pm, from the Anglican church cemetery in Sally’s Cove, NL, with Rev:Wilhelmena Green officiating.

Rachel’s family sends thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Point for the care, kindness, and love they provided her these last few years.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
