Norma Mae Meyer November 13th 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Norma Mae Meyer. Our precious Mother died at the William Booth Hospice on Friday, November 13, 2020 in Regina, SK. Mom struggled with blood cancer for many years and the Leukemia eventually took her life.
Norma was born on April 19, 1934 in Chaplin, SK. Mom told us that her Mother, Pearl, had to hop on the back of a motorcycle from their farm to get a ride into Chaplin so the midwife could assist her Mother to help Norma into the world. Norma grew up on the farm in the hamlet of Calderbank, SK. Mom always told us stories of her helping on the farm and spending a lot of her time at her Great Grandparent’s (Clelland) home up the road. Mom loved playing baseball at school. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse. Eventually, she had to move to Enfold, SK to attend school to obtain high school education. She stayed at the Sneddon household and the Dick’s residence. Her best friend growing up was Darlene Nicholson.
Norma eventually moved to Regina, SK and worked at Lorne Drugs on 14th Avenue. She then took a comptometer course and was employed by BA Oil. She loved this job and she said at the time it paid well. On October 26, 1956, Mom married Raymond Lewis Meyer of Morse, SK. Ray and Norma were married for over 25 years. They had two children, Kelley Rae Meyer, and Jayson Blake Meyer. They first resided in Moose Jaw, SK and then Regina, SK before heading down east to Ottawa, Ontario where they lived for twelve years. Mom always said that Ottawa was her favorite place to live as she had so many great memories of all the hockey tournaments and gatherings at our family pool in the backyard during the hot, humid summers. Mom eventually moved to West Kelowna in the late 90’s and lived there for the past 25 years. Mom made many dear friends and loved to be part of the Seniors’ Choir.
Mom loved music. She would always be singing and would try to embarrass her kids by singing loudly in retail stores. She loved to laugh. She loved kids. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Mark and Rae Meyer, children of Claudia and Jayson Meyer. She loved dogs too. The first dog of the family was Ginger, and then dogs of her children; Lucky, Levi, Molly, and Paxton.
Norma was the kindest person in the world with a heart of gold. Norma was everybody’s Mom. Loved by all her children’s friends and neighbours. There are too many great memories and humorous stories to list. For those that knew our Mother, just think of her and she will bring a smile to your face and warm your heart.
There will always be a place for Norma in everyone’s heart. She will be deeply missed by her family; Kelley, her daughter, son, Jayson and his wife Claudia, Mark (Chelsey) and Rae (Boyd). She loved her family very much; sister, Doreen (AL), and all of those who were predeceased before her, especially her Mother. Mom would speak often as to how much she missed her Mother. Norma is now at peace and resting in Heaven with her Mother and singing loudly for our Heavenly Father and his Son. Norma was truly an angel who touched everyone she met. Love you forever Mom, we will see you one day.
Private family interment will be held in the Summer of 2021 in Penticton, B.C.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norma Mae Meyer November 13th 2020..
