Muriel May Allen 2020

Muriel May Allen
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of
Muriel May Allen( nee MacQuarrie) in Belfast, P.E.I on December 15,
2020. Muriel was born in Hampton, P.E.I on March 1st, 1932 to parents
Boyd Everton and May MacQuarrie (nee Monkley). Lovingly remembered by
daughter Judi Rae (David McBurney), son Boyd (Catherine Russell),
sisters Margaret MacPhail, Sarah MacQuarrie, and sister-in-law Ruth
MacQuarrie. Predeceased by brothers Bill (Millie), Ray, sister Annie
(Harold Hollister), brother-in-law Colin MacPhail and former husband
William Allen. She was deeply loved by all her nieces and nephews,
cousins, and many, many friends. Muriel lived a complete life. Her
employment journey ranged from teaching at a one room school as a
young woman to being a vital member of the P.E.I. Library
Service’s Bookmobile team from 1972 to 1993. Muriel
also had a very fulfilling retirement with lots of travels,
visits and many happy winters in Puerto Rico. She was always up for an
adventure, loved to laugh and told wonderful stories. She was
a woman of courage and spiritual generosity. Muriel was fiercely loyal
to her friends and family. She helped them cope with the pitfalls
and disappointments in their lives while wholeheartedly
celebrating their victories. She loved unequivocally. Those who knew
her will deeply mourn her loss. Many thanks to the
outstanding and caring staff at Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial
Lodge. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a private
family service. A celebration of life will follow when circumstances
allow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local
food bank. Condolences may be made online www.dawsonfh.com
