Merle’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Merle Hynes announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 31st, 2020, at the age of 79. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dianne of 35 years; his son: Craig Hynes (Lori) grandchildren Brendan and Tate; his daughters: Denise Monk (Tony); Shelly McCarthy (Frank) grandchildren Alichia and Frankie; Sonya Philpott (Fred) grandchildren Kristin and Emily. His sisters: Rona Noel, Marina Allen, Joan Greene, Doris Hicks, Alice Kelley, and Audrey (Keith Kilpatrick). His brothers: Harvey (Betty) Hynes, Don (Joyce), Max Hynes, Gerald Hynes and Wayne Hynes; Mother-in-law Alice Flynn along with a large circle of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents: Sandy & Elizabeth Hynes; in-laws Marcel Noel, Robert Green, Ward Allen and Bill Hicks. A private viewing and funeral service will take place from Curling Memorial United Church with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are accepted or memorial donations in memory of Merle can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
